Kayak to Cuba

Perhaps you’re like me and you’ve always wanted to go to Cuba, but weren’t sure if it was because it was legitimately interesting or simply forbidden. Perhaps you’re feeling confused by the fact that travel restrictions have been lifted because you don’t know if it’s worth it to go now that the allure of the illicit is lost.

If you are that person, things are about to get even more confusing. Today, Kayak.com added hotels and flight to Cuba to its website. Now, you can check out flights and hotels in Cuba, but note: “travelers cannot make Cuba-related travel arrangements through KAYAK, and KAYAK does not represent that any of the listed sources actually can or will make bookings for Cuba-related travel arrangements.” Also, to travel to Cuba, you still need to belong to one of 12 categories, including family visits, educational activities, journalistic activity, or humanitarian work. And once you’ve qualified, you will still need to receive the special travel license.

So go! Book a trip to Havana! If you do it soon enough, you can be one of the first Americans to travel there, and that’s almost as cool as going to a place where Americans just aren’t allowed. And hey–there’s always North Korea.
